Know Before You Go

Road Closures

Beginning Wednesday, October 22, at 5 p.m., additional road closures within the Homecoming Zone will go into place, including:

  • T.R. Soloman and University Drive
  • O.J. Thomas and L.W. Minor
  • L.W. Minor and Marion Henry

Once the road closures go into effect, traffic will not be allowed. Driving around barricades without a permit will result in a citation.

On Saturday, October 25, University Drive will be closed from 6:30 to 11 a.m. for the Homecoming parade. Parade parking will be located on the north side of campus.

Alternate Routes

From US-290 W exit James Muse Parkway, make a right. At the stop sign on Owens Rd., make a left and proceed until you reach the North Gate.

From US-290 W exit Liendo Pkwy (one exit after University Drive) and make a right. Proceed down Liendo Pkwy and make a right at Wyatt Chapel Rd. At the next stop sign State Loop 1098, make a right and proceed to the WEST GATE.

Traffic Delays

US-290 W traffic may be heavy as you approach campus due to the Waller ISD homecoming schedule of events.

Navigation On Campus

Once parked, on-campus signage will help you find the campus map, parade route, shuttle stops, restrooms, cooling and hydration stations, emergency services, parking lots, vendor areas, food truck parks, and stages for entertainment.

First Aid and Hydration Stations

Drink water often and visit cooling stations if you feel overheated. EMS teams are stationed throughout campus, including tent city, RV lots, and behind Hobart Taylor.

On-Campus Residents

Homecoming is a great time to celebrate, and we want all students to enjoy it safely. Extra personnel and law enforcement will be on hand at each housing facility during Homecoming week, and only residents with a valid PVAMU Student ID can enter their assigned units; no visitors will be allowed. Residents are encouraged to follow community rules, stay aware of their surroundings, and report any concerns to University Police at 936‑261‑1375.

Show Panther Pride with officially licensed PVAMU gear. Only licensed vendors are permitted to sell merchandise during Homecoming in approved areas.
