Safety and Security

Safety First: Keeping the Celebration Smooth and Secure

As festivities expand, Prairie View A&M continues to take thoughtful steps to ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable Homecoming for everyone, including:

  • Increased police presence and coordinated on-site medical support
  • Accessible cooling and hydration stations throughout tailgate areas and the stadium
  • Real-time digital communication tools to keep guests informed
  • Quiet hours begin at midnight and last through 6 a.m., with no amplified sound permitted

Stay alert for Panther Alerts by texting PRAIRIE VIEW to 67283, and check digital displays and social media for real-time updates. Blue Phones are located across campus and connect directly to PVAMU Police. For immediate help, call 936-261-1375. If you see something suspicious or feel unsafe, say something – notify an officer or call 911 immediately.

Rave Alert Mobile & Rave Guardian App

Rave Guardian is a free mobile app that turns your smartphone into a personal safety device and Rave Alert Mobile allows for phone calls, text messages and emails related to campus safety to be distributed to the campus community.

As a faculty/staff and student, you are automatically enrolled in RAVE Alert Mobile. PVAMU encourages all students, faculty, and staff to enhance their personal safety and the safety of their friends and download the free Guardian app at the Apple store or Google Play.
